John Putnam has been performing blues for over 30 years, fronting his own trios and quartets as singer/guitarist since 1989. Having moved to New York from Boston, Mr. Putnam is proud to be performing with a variety of acts from the area including his own Blues Party as well as The Real Stomin' Norman, The Nawlins Funk Band and others. During his career, Mr. Putnam has been a studio arranger and guitarist, teacher, lounge pianist, and soundtrack composer for TV (WBZ Boston, WGBH Boston) and radio (WERS, WGBH). Recently two of John's commissioned pieces have been played at the last three graduations for Harvard and MIT. But the constant throughout his career has been playing the blues ... John has opened for such luminaries as: Blah blah blah ... He does this because he is a music whore for the blues… It's a terrible living but it keeps him smiling anyway.
